World History Episode 1 Crash Course By: John Green

John Green investigates the dawn of human civilization. In this video we looks into how people gave up hunting and gathering becoming agriculturalists, and how that change has influenced the planet we live in today. Also, there are some jokes about cheeseburgers. Three reasons I like this episode: Reason number one, he talks about cheeseburgers. Number two, I learned that in the Franchthi Cave which was continuously inhabited by humans for over 20,000 years were domesticating snails. Which simply required drawing a circle around their territory and breeding the big ones together. Reason three he looks at both the ups and downs of having large cities against the pros and cons of being nomads. -M
