Evening Prayers April 10 2009 by e

Per the rubrics, Evening Prayer on Good Friday is said only by those who do not participate in the evening celebration of the Lord’s passion.

GO TO CHURCH.

Look well, all you peoples, and see my suffering.

My soul is in anguish, my heart is in torment.

When Jesus had taken the vinegar, he said: “It is accomplished.” Then he bowed his head and died.

For our sake Christ was obedient, accepting even death, death on a cross.

When we were his enemies, God reconciled us to himself by the death of his Son.

Morning Prayers April 10 2009 by e

Audio of Morning Prayers for April 10, 2009.

Psalm 51; Habakkuk 3:2-4, 13a, 15-19; Psalm 147:12-20; Isaiah 52:13-15

From ancient times the Church has had the custom of celebrating each day the Liturgy of the Hours, also known as the Divine Office. In this way the Church fulfills the Lord’s precept to pray without ceasing, at once offering its praise to God the Father and interceding for the salvation of the world. Join me in praying the Liturgy of the Hours today and throughout the lenten season.
